In July 2011, RTL was acquired by The Baker Company, Sanford, Maine, USA. For more than 50 years, The Baker Company has delivered high performing and high quality contamination control products to laboratory professionals. Baker was the first company to introduce Biological Safety Cabinets to the Laboratory market.

Ruskinn Workstation Brands serve 3 core markets:

  1. “Concept/Bugbox” range of anaerobic Workstations: Aimed at Clinical Microbiology laboratories where growing microorganisms at zero oxygen concentration is vital.
  2. “Invivo2” range of Hypoxia Workstations: Aimed at Cancer research and Molecular/Cell Biology labs, where the user can define a their own closed culture conditions where 02, CO2, temperature and humidity need to be accurately controlled.
  3. “SCI-tive” range of Hypoxia Workstations: In 2009 RTL launched “SCI-TIVE” a new high end Hypoxia Workstation featuring hepafiltration and built in microscopy. SCI-tive is aimed at Stem Cell laboratories  where research has shown that yield of cell lines is increased when derived in a closed culture system using hypoxic conditions.
