Junji Yodoi

Junji YodoiProf.Em. Kyoto University and is the Chairman of JBPA (Japan Biostress Research Promotion Alliance). He has been Professor of in Department of Biological Responses, Insitute for Virus Research (IVR), Kyoto University, retireing April 2010.

After graduation from Kyoto University Medical School 1971 and postgraduate course in the University Hospital and the IVR, he was appointed as Assistant Professor in the Institute for Immunology in the Medical School. After 3Yrs work (1977-1980) as Research Associate in Johns Hopkins University Department of Medicine under Prof. Kimishige Ishizaka, he returned to Kyoto Univ. and appointed as Professor in the Department of Prevention and Therapeutics, IVR in 1989, and the moved to the Department of Biological Responses in 1990.

He was also appointed as the Human Stress Signal Research Center, Head od BioMedical Special Research Unit, AIST (National Inst Advanced Industrial Science and Technology Japan) from 2001 to 2004. He was also a group leader of Translational Res Center, Thioredoxin Project, in Kyoto Univ Hospital from 2003 to 2007. 2011. March. He is also appointed as an Invited Distinguished Professor in Ehwa Womans Univ. (WCU Prgm) Seoul.

His honors includes:

» President of IRN (International Redox Network) since 2004
» President's Honor Award International Society for Pathophysiology 1998, First Prize of the 42nd Erwin von Baelz Prize 2005, 1st Daniel L,Gilbert Memorial Lecturer Award in The Oxygen Club Of Greater Washington,D.C 2006, The Oxygen Club of California OCC 2010 The Science and Humanity Award 2010.
