James M. Samet, PhD, MPH, DABT, is a senior principal investigator with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Clinical Research Branch, and an adjunct faculty member at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Samet’s laboratory research focuses on oxidant mechanisms of signal transduction disregulation in human lung cells exposed to ambient air pollutants, including metallic components of airborne particulate matter such as zinc.
