Federico V. Pallardó was born in 1961, he graduated in medicine in 1985. Later he obtained his PhD in Physiology from the University of Valencia (SPAIN) where he is now Professor of General Physiology in the Department of Physiology. He has been research fellow in the Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine in the University of Oxford (UK) and postdoctoral fellow and holder of a NATO fellowship in the Department of Cellular Physiology at the Harvard Medical School (Harvard University, USA). He was invited professor in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at North Chicago University, USA). He has been member of the SFRR-Europe Steering Committee and Secretary of SFRR-Europe. Prof Pallardó was Director of the Core Research Facility and has served as vice-dean for Research and Economic Affairs in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry in the University Valencia. He was elected and is now Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry and Elected Member of the Government Committee of the University of Valencia.
His research interests focus on the role of oxidative stress in the physiopathology of rare diseases and in the influence of glutathione in epigenetic regulation. He has been awarded by the Merck-Serono Foundation for his investigation on Werner Syndrome.
