Giuseppe Murdolo, is MD, PhD and Specialist in Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of Perugia, post-doctoral fellowship at the Lundberg Laboratory for Diabetes Research of the Sahalgrenska Academy of Gothenburg (Sweden), member of the EASD (European Association for the Study of Diabetes), Italian Society of Endocrinology (SIE) and Obesity (SIO).
He is physician at the Department of Internal Medicine in Assisi Hospital.
His research interests focus on the role of the adipose organ in the setting of insulin resistance. The main research lines are: 1) characterization of adipokines secretion “in vivo” by subcutaneous microdialysis; 2) role of adipose dysfunction in the regulation of glucose homeostasis; 3) relationships between oxidized lipids, adipose inflammation and adipokines secretion; 4) ex vivo, in vitro and in vivo experimental cell/tissue models.
