Junichi Fujii is Professor of Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Graduate School of Medical Sciences, Yamagata University. He received Ph. D. from Osaka University, Japan in 1988. He studied on molecular biology of sarcoplasmic reticulum at the Banting and Best Department of Medical Research, University of Toronto, Canada (Prof. David H. MacLennan). He then changed the research field to oxidative stress & redox biology and worked at Department of Biochemistry, Osaka University Medical School, Japan (Prof Naoyuki Tanigchi). He moved to Yamagata University as a professor in 1999.
He is an executive editor of Journal of Clinical Biochemistry and Nutrition since 2008 and an advisory board member of Journal of Biochemistry. His research interests are roles of antioxidative enzymes such as SOD and peroxiredoxins and redox regulation of cellular homeostasis. He is also working in the field of reproductive biology.
