Soumyakanti Adhikari obtained his PhD in Chemical Sciences from Mumbai
University in 2000. He is senior scientist in Bhabha Atomic Research Centre,
Mumbai, India. He is also an associate professor of Homi Bhabha National
Institute, Mumbai, India. He is a member of SFRR-Asia and the Vice-President
of SFRR-India.
Dr. Adhikari is involved with two Journals, as Assistant Editor of Indian Journal of Radiation Research and an Editorial Board Member of Oriental Journal of Chemistry.
He received the prestigious IUPAC Young Chemist Prize in 2001 and achieved the Science and Technical Excellence Award from Department of Atomic Energy, India in 2008.
His research interest is antioxidant and free radical scavenging mechanism of natural and synthetic polyphenols and herbal extracts. His research on antioxidant activity of folic acid is well accepted by the community. He has also initiated work in the area of synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials for their application in biology and medicine.
